About Us

HOTT is a program of the Michigan Health Council.

For more than 65 years, the Michigan Health Council has been working to connect healthcare employers with professionals, promote health education, and examine healthcare workforce issues in Michigan. We are a statewide, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to find innovative solutions to our state's healthcare workforce problems. MHC blends its advanced technology and extensive network of relationships with healthcare employers, professionals, insurers, associations, government agencies, and academic institutions to develop creative solutions for people and communities statewide.

Health Opportunities for Today and Tomorrow, or HOTT is Michigan’s premier website to help students and adults explore health care occupations, education and training options and other career resources.

Explore a variety of healthcare career occupations, including side-by-side comparisons that compare salary range, educational requirements and trend outlooks for each career. Each career path is linked with colleges, universities, and training programs so users can inquire directly with the training providers, link to their websites, and connect with the institutions that represent specific training programs.

HOTT also provides links to academic funding and other resources for career development and preparation. Users can explore career fairs, mentor and shadow opportunities, adult career changer information, health care camps, and a host of other resources posted to HOTT.
